Westchester, we have a lot to be thankful for. We are living in a stunningly beautiful corner of the world.
On one side of us, the Long Island Sound sparkles in the sun…on the other, the majestic Hudson River flows from the mountains above us to the ocean below. In between, there are countless magical places- parks, gardens and horse farms; Continue reading
Yes, the cold weather has arrived, Westchester!
This past Saturday there was a definite chill in the air, but the sun was out, and we weren’t ready to start hibernating for the winter. So, we fought the urge to hunker down inside, threw on our chunky wool scarves, and headed outdside to enjoy the last few vestiges of fall – but where to? Continue reading
Let’s suppose it’s one of those rare days when your family has a few hours of unscheduled free time, just waiting to be filled up with something deliciously fun. Who gets to decide which fun thing you’ll do? Does everyone usually agree?

There’s something magical about the first snowfall- bright red leaves, soft white flakes, happy winter thoughts. Happy Day, Westchester!
Alamo, where have you been all my life?
For those of you who haven’t heard, The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is a new movie theater in Yonkers, NY. And this movie theater is making me very, very happy.
I’ve always loved seeing a movie on the big screen- a dark theater, surround-sound, and a crowd of people all around me on the edges of their seats. That love has rubbed off on my whole family, and we go to the movies pretty often. Continue reading
This past weekend, I had a suspicion it might be our last chance to see some really good fall color on the trees before it either gets too cold or the trees lose all their leaves. So my goal for this weeks Happy Day adventure was to find someplace outdoors and picturesque, where the kids could have fun exploring and I could enjoy the last hints of fall.
I found the perfect spot. Perfect, in so many ways.
